Darren Randolph pens new West Ham United deal

West Ham United keeper Darren Randolph signs a new four-year deal at the club.

West Ham United keeper Darren Randolph has signed a new four-year deal keeping him with the side until 2020.

The 29-year-old joined Slaven Bilic's squad last summer and featured 15 times in all competitions as the Hammers finished seventh in the Premier League.

Speaking after signing the deal, Randolph outlined his intention to fight with Adrian for the number one spot between the sticks as the club prepare for their first season in the 60,000-seater Olympic Stadium.

"I've had a good first year at West Ham and this is another positive thing to happen to me at the end of a good first season and a good summer with Ireland," he told the club's official website.

"I spoke to the manager and I know [Adrian and I] both have the opportunity to work towards that No1 position, which was part of the reason I was happy to sign a new contract.

"It is good to know I have the manager's backing and it certainly helps my confidence to know he believes in what I can do."

Randolph was Republic of Ireland manager Martin O'Neill's first choice at Euro 2016 as they reached the last 16 before being dispatched by hosts France.
