Wales move ahead of England in FIFA world rankings

Wales move up to 11th in the FIFA world rankings, while England drop to 13th in the list.

Wales have moved above England in the FIFA world rankings following their charge to the semi-finals at Euro 2016.

Chris Coleman's side are now 11th in the list, two places higher than their neighbours, who drop to 13th following their last-16 exit to Iceland.

Wales managed to progress into the final four by finishing at the top of Group B before defeating Northern Ireland and Belgium in the last-16 and quarter-finals respectively.

Their run was halted by eventual tournament winners Portugal, who sealed a 2-0 victory in the semi-finals.

Wales have moved up 15 places following the tournament, while England, who are searching for a new manager following Roy Hodgson's departure, have fallen two spots.

Northern Ireland have dropped three places to 28th, while the Republic of Ireland have climbed two spots into 31st.

European champions Portugal are now sixth in the standings, while France, who were beaten in the final, move up 10 places to sit in seventh position.

Argentina, Belgium, Colombia and Germany are the top four teams in the list.
