Clive Allen: 'Tottenham Hotspur need to stick with Roberto Soldado'

Tottenham Hotspur legend Clive Allen tips Roberto Soldado to find his form at the club.

Former Tottenham Hotspur striker Clive Allen has urged the club to keep faith with Roberto Soldado.

The Spurs forward has struggled to make an impact since his club-record £26m move from Valencia in the summer of 2013, but Allen thinks that the Spaniard will eventually prove his worth at White Hart Lane.

Allen told talkSPORT: "[Soldado] probably hasn't had as much service as he needs but all of a sudden you can sense the pressure is on.

"He had a gilt edged chance the other night which was nodded down by Younes Kaboul and it was one of those as a striker, when you're in form and full of confidence, you sweep it into the back of the net and he actually heeled it and it trickled through to the goalkeeper.

"A man in form, with the ability he has, he should be taking those chances, so you can see his confidence is suffering but I think Spurs have to stick by him."

Soldado has scored one goal this season.
