Ronald Koeman: 'Fourth is not impossible for Southampton'

Ronald Koeman believes that it is "not impossible" for Southampton to finish in the top four this season.

Southampton manager Ronald Koeman believes that his team are capable of finishing in the top four this season if they keep up their impressive form for the remainder of the campaign.

The Saints are currently second in the Premier League table, three points behind leaders Chelsea.

Prior to the season starting, many tipped Koeman's side to get relegated due to an exodus of their first-team players, including Adam Lallana, Luke Shaw, Dejan Lovren, Calum Chambers and Rickie Lambert.

"If we continue like this there is a possibility to finish in the top four, but teams like Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United usually finish higher because they have two good players that make the club big," Koeman told reporters.

"But we will try to do it our way. If we keep belief and keep the spirit then nothing is impossible."

Southampton can extend their five-game unbeaten run to six if they get a result against Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday.
