Schalke 04 smash 10-man Augsburg

Schalke smash Augsburg 4-1 in the Bundesliga, despite going behind early on.

Schalke 04 have come from behind to hammer Augsburg 4-1 in the Bundesliga.

Augsburg started brightly with both Tobias Werner and Andre Hahn coming close inside the opening two minutes.

They took advantage of their bright start and went ahead after 10 minutes as Matthias Ostrzolek crossed for Sascha Molders, who finished first time.

It all went wrong for the visitors in the 15th minute. Ragnar Klavan brought down Adam Szalai inside the box and was sent off, and Kevin-Prince Boateng stepped up to level from the spot.

Then just before the half-hour mark the turnaround was complete, with Szalai finishing coolly from Atsuto Uchida's pass.

In the second half the rout continued as Schalke added two more goals. The first came through Szalai before Max Meyer completed the scoring.
