Real Madrid have reportedly put forward a proposal to sign Paris Saint-Germain forward Kylian Mbappe in the summer.
Mbappe has recently entered the final six months of his contract at Parc des Princes and is free to hold discussions with foreign clubs.
However, whether the France international leaves the Ligue 1 giants remains firmly in the balance, even though he has recently acknowledged that he intends to take on a new challenge at some stage of his career.
PSG president Nasser Al Khelaifi has spoken with an air of confidence that he may be able to convince the 25-year-old to spend more time in Paris.
Nevertheless, Mbappe has insisted that he remains focused on trying to deliver a Champions League trophy for PSG with a last-16 date against Real Sociedad just around the corner.

That will not stop offers arriving for his signature, though, and Real are one of a select number of clubs who may have the financial capacity to get a deal over the line.
A report has previously insisted that Los Blancos have no intention of becoming embroiled in an extended saga, a consequence of missing out on Mbappe in May 2022 when he had a late change of heart.
According to ESPN, Real have already made their move in an attempt to convince Mbappe to move to the Santiago Bernabeu in June.
There are conflicting sources over whether Mbappe has a deadline to make a final decision, yet the indication is that Real would prefer to have negotiations wrapped up as soon as possible.

Real have a greater La Liga wage cap to work with for 2024-25, theoretically freeing up space to facilitate committing to a lucrative long-term contract for Mbappe.
President Florentino Perez is also eager to sign a new attacker with Real choosing not to acquire a direct alternative to Karim Benzema last summer.
The report adds that Real are not prepared to offer Mbappe the same terms that he was provided with the chance to accept in 2022, it yet to be determined whether such a stance will impact on matters.
PSG have allegedly made a contract offer of their own, that also likely to be their best offer as they strive to retain the services of their key man and end speculation for at least another year or two.
