Roberto Mancini says that his Argentine strike duo Sergio Aguero and Carlos Tevez are ready to deliver for Manchester City this season.

Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini has insisted that Argentine strike pair Sergio Aguero and Carlos Tevez have his full backing.

Both players were on target during City's 3-1 friendly win in Malaysia on Monday and Mancini expects that form to be carried into the new campaign.

The Italian boss told Sky Sports News: "We were confident two weeks ago and I'm even more confident today. Sergio played very well and his partnership with Carlos has continued from last season.

"They scored a goal each today which is good. Sergio also played in the wide position today but still produced the goods. Hopefully we can continue his good form in the coming season."

City will be hope the South American pair will be firing on all cylinders as they begin the defence of their Premier League title against Southampton on August 19.
