Steve Bruce pleased with Hull City form

Hull manager Steve Bruce is "very pleased" with how his side have performed in their opening 15 games of the current Premier League season.

Hull City manager Steve Bruce has revealed that he is "very pleased" with the way his side have performed so far this season.

The Tigers drew 1-1 with Swansea City at the Liberty Stadium this evening to move up to 12th in the Premier League table after an opening 15 games that has seen them face nine of the 10 teams currently in the top half.

Bruce felt that his side could have snatched a win from Swansea on another day, but acknowledged that a point away to Michael Laudrup's side was a good result for a newly-promoted team.

"I thought in the first half we were a bit of a non-entity a little bit. In the second half it livened up. But always in the Premier League a newly-promoted team coming away from home to get a point, you're always satisfied with it and on another night we might have had a couple of decisions which might have changed the whole outcome," Bruce told Sky Sports News.

"But overall I've got to be pleased because we know how difficult it is with Swansea being in the top 10. We've played eight or nine of the top 10 teams in the division away from home, so it's been a difficult start in that respect.

"We're in the pack and just below halfway and after 15-16 games is very, very pleasing. We're making big strides and let's hope we can stay with it."

Hull's next match sees them host 13th-placed Stoke City on Saturday.
