Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has reportedly been spotted visiting Wayne Rooney's MLS side DC United at their training facility in Virginia.
Solskjaer, who played for Manchester United with Rooney between 2004 and 2007, has been out of a job since leaving Old Trafford in 2021.
Rooney's current deal with the MLS side is set to expire at the end of the season, and the DC United head coach has confirmed that he and the club's executives are yet to discuss his future.
According to a report from the Daily Mail, Solskjaer was spotted at DC United's training facility in Virginia, accompanied by a pair of associates on Tuesday.
The report adds that while Solskjaer's presence coincides with Rooney's contract entering its latter stages, the Norwegian is not in the running to replace the DC United boss, nor is he considered a candidate for the job.
Solskjaer mentioned in a previous interview that he was "going to the east coast of the United States in a few weeks to see Wayne Rooney and David Beckham, see a few games and see what's what".
DC United is currently without a general manager since Lucy Rushton's departure at the end of the 2022 season, which has led to increased control over the club's roster by Rooney, while Dave Kasper, the president of soccer operations and sporting director, has assumed the role of interim GM.
Under Rooney's leadership, DC United are in 10th place in the MLS Eastern Conference and are the first side below the final series playoff qualification spots.
