Charlton Athletic skipper Johnnie Jackson backs Addicks to 'bounce back'

Johnnie Jackson backs Charlton Athletic to continue their up-and-down form when they take on Barnsley in a key match in the fight for Championship survival tonight.

Johnnie Jackson has backed Charlton Athletic to continue their up-and-down form when they take on Barnsley in a key match in the fight for Championship survival tonight.

The Addicks go into the game on an eight-game alternating win-loss streak and can make that nine if they recover from Saturday's defeat at Brighton by beating the bottom-of-the-table Tykes.

"We have bounced back before in recent weeks. Losing on the Saturday and winning on the Tuesday has been our pattern," Jackson told the club website.

"If we can carry on like that then we'll stay up. We want more than that and want to win every game, obviously, but Tuesday is key now."

Tonight's match is one of two games in hand that Charlton have on most of the sides around them. Victory will see them climb up to 18th in the table and four points clear of the bottom three.
