Ole Gunnar Solskjaer: 'I have money to spend'

Cardiff City boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer claims that he has money at his disposal to bolster his squad this month.

Newly-appointed Cardiff City manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has hinted that he will be afforded funds necessary to bolster his squad in the transfer window this month.

The Manchester United legend returned to English football on Thursday after being named as Malky Mackay's successor in South Wales.

Mackay parted company with the Bluebirds under a cloud after reportedly falling out with owner Vincent Tan over the perceived lack of a transfer budget, but Solksjaer claims that he has money at his disposal to put his own stamp on the team.

He told reporters: "I have a solid foundation here but it's a long season.

"The quality is there. We have got loads of quality to work with and then maybe some additions to blend in.

"Of course we have not had a lot of time on the training ground, so we have had to go through a few things in the meetings."

The Norwegian kick-started his City career by guiding the club into the fourth round of the FA Cup with a 2-1 victory away to Newcastle United on Saturday.
