How Barcelona could line up against Bayern Munich

Sports Mole looks at how Barcelona could line up in Friday's Champions League quarter-final against Bayern Munich.

Barcelona will be looking to book their spot in the semi-finals of the Champions League when they take on Bayern Munich in the last eight of the competition on Friday night.

The Spanish champions overcame Napoli to advance to the quarter-finals, while Bayern breezed past Chelsea to set up a mouthwatering contest with Quique Setien's side.

All of the quarter-finals are taking place as one-off ties in Lisbon, and the winner of this contest will face either Manchester City or Lyon in the semi-finals of the competition.

Here, Sports Mole looks at how Barca could line up in Portugal.

POSS BAR XI vs. BAY

Out: Samuel Umtiti (knee)
Doubtful: Ousmane Dembele (hamstring)

Barca are still without Samuel Umtiti due to a knee injury, but Ousmane Dembele has been making significant progress in his recovery from a long-term hamstring issue, and there is a chance that the France international could be involved off the bench in the quarter-final tie.

The Spanish giants will also be boosted by the returns of Sergio Busquets and Arturo Vidal from suspension, and there is a feeling that both players will come into the starting XI on Friday night.

Head coach Setien is allegedly considering a midfield four of Busquets, Vidal, Frenkie de Jong and Sergi Roberto, which could see Antoine Griezmann drop out of the starting side.

Lionel Messi would therefore join Luis Suarez as part of a front two, with Nelson Semedo keeping his spot at right-back and Ivan Rakitic dropping out of a midfield three.

Griezmann's omission would be a huge talking point but flooding the midfield could be the way forward against a Bayern side that have been in excellent form.
