Remi Garde confirms Jack Grealish remains banished from Aston Villa first team

Aston Villa boss Remi Garde confirms that Jack Grealish will not be included in the squad for this weekend's match against Southampton.

Aston Villa boss Remi Garde has confirmed that Jack Grealish will not be part of the matchday squad for this weekend's Southampton match as he continues to be punished for his off-field activity.

The 20-year-old was banished to the Under-21s last week after he was filmed partying in Manchester following Villa's 4-0 defeat to Everton.

There had been reports that the youngster would not be named in this weekend's squad, and now Garde has confirmed that this is the case.

In today's press conference, the Frenchman told reporters: "Jack has continued to train with the Under-21 squad and won't be included in the squad for Southampton. I have a date in mind for when I will bring him back but that will remain private."

Grealish has been in trouble with the club before as he was spotted apparently passed out on the street in Tenerife after a drunken night out.
