Andy Murray is out of the Montreal Masters after losing in straight sets to Ernests Gulbis.
The Wimbledon champion had been hoping to continue his impressive form against the Latvian, but he was far from his best in Canada.
The opening set went with serve for the first nine games, before Gulbis struck at 5-4 to move a set away from the last eight.
Murray continued to struggle to create openings in the second, and the pressure told as Gulbis broke serve to give himself a chance to serve for the match.
Gulbis looked under pressure at 30-30 as Murray threatened to hit back, but two big first serves saw him set up a quarter-final tie with either Juan Martin del Potro or Milos Raonic.
