Agnieszka Radwanska beats Sloane Stephens into Rogers Cup quarters

Agnieszka Radwanska reaches the quarter-finals of the Rogers Cup at the expense of Sloane Stephens by securing a straight-sets victory.

Agnieszka Radwanska has reached the quarter-finals of the Rogers Cup with a 6-1 7-6 [2] victory over American Sloane Stephens.

The Polish pro began strongly in Montreal by breaking her opponent at the first time of asking and striding to a swift one-set lead.

The second set was less of a breeze for Radwanska, who lost an early break which pushed Stephens to take control of the match by reaching a 3-1 lead.

However, the American's lead didn't last long as Radwanska fought back to move the second set into a tie-break, which she was able to clinch 7-2 and wrap up the match.
