Connor: Wolves slump makes me better

Wolverhampton Wanderers boss Terry Connor considers his disappointing stint as head coach as a learning curve.

Wolverhampton Wanderers manager Terry Connor has insisted that the struggling side's dire form in the Premier League has made him a "better manager".

The 49-year-old, who was appointed head coach until the end of the season, has recorded six straight defeats in the top flight, which are likely to drop the West Midlands side down into the Championship.

"Some of the experiences haven't been great, but they make you," said Connor. "Sometimes when you're winning games, everything is rosy and great and everyone is telling you how great you are, but you don't really find out about yourself – who really is the man and what you're about.

"I'll be using these experiences to make me a better person, a better manager, or assistant manager and better coach in the future.

"I wouldn't say it's been a crash course in football management, but there have been experiences and it's always difficult to deal with new ones."

Wolves have six games left to try to survive the dreaded drop.
