West Ham United midfielder Martin Samuelsen cuts short Blackburn Rovers loan

Blackburn Rovers confirm that Martin Samuelsen has returned to parent club West Ham United after cutting short his season-long loan at Ewood Park.

Martin Samuelsen has returned to parent club West Ham United after cutting short his season-long loan at Championship side Blackburn Rovers.

The 19-year-old Norway international joined Rovers in August but featured only four times for Owen Coyle's side, his last appearance coming in the goalless draw with Ipswich Town on October 15.

Coyle told the official Blackburn website: "We had a good chat and Martin's family felt that he wanted to be starting games and at this moment in time we couldn't guarantee him that.

"So, we agreed that it was in his best interest to return to West Ham. He's a great lad and we wish him well."

Samuelsen joined West Ham on a free transfer in June 2015 following his release from Manchester City and spent last season on loan at Peterborough United.
