Ipswich Town are thought to be lining up loan moves for youngsters Martin Samuelsen and Adam Armstrong before the transfer window closes in a week.
Tractor Boys manager Mick McCarthy has admitted that he is in the market for reinforcements this month and is mindful that the club will not have a loan window to take advantage of this season.
According to the Ipswich Star, McCarthy and his assistant Terry Connor watched Samuelsen and Armstrong in action during the Under-23s match between West Ham United and Newcastle United on Monday night.
Norwegian winger Samuelsen, 19, has been with the Hammers since last summer and spent part of last season on loan at League One side Peterborough United, where he scored once in 17 appearances.
Striker Armstrong, also 19, has been part of the Magpies setup since the age of nine and impressed with a return of 20 goals in 40 appearances while on loan at third-tier Coventry City last term.
Town are also thought to be considering offering a deal to veteran forward Leon Best, who is currently on trial with the club.
