Alan Curtis praises "excellent" Swansea City after Arsenal win

Stand-in manager Alan Curtis heaps praise on Swansea City after the Welsh side fought back from behind to stun Arsenal at the Emirates.

Swansea City's stand-in manager Alan Curtis has praised the effort of his players after they fought back from a goal down to win 2-1 at Arsenal and ease their Premier League relegation worries.

The Swans had failed to win in five games but produced a big upset tonight and made it three defeats in a row for Arsenal for the first time in almost six years.

Curtis was in charge after head coach Francesco Guidolin was taken to hospital with a chest infection.

"That's a very important win for us," Curtis told BBC Sport. "We had our backs to the wall but I thought we played really well. We had a bad start, deservedly went behind, but in the second half I thought we were excellent.

"It's a great atmosphere in the dressing room and tonight was a great reminder of how it feels to win games at this level. Hopefully we can get a few more before the end of the season."

Swansea are unbeaten in their last four matches away at Arsenal, winning three.
