New Sunderland manager Paolo Di Canio has offered his sympathies to the man who he replaced at the Stadium of Light, Martin O'Neill.
The former Swindon Town boss was appointed as the Premier League outfit's new manager just a day after O'Neill was given the boot.
"I am sorry for [O'Neill] because it could happen to me one day," Di Canio said in a press conference. "I will only concentrate and do my job properly for the club."
The Black Cats are currently two places above the drop zone, just one point separating them from the bottom three.
