Tottenham Hotspur star Gareth Bale calls on his teammates to carry the momentum from their victory over Manchester City into the game against Wigan.

Tottenham Hotspur star Gareth Bale has called on his teammates to keep the momentum from their victory over Manchester City when they face Wigan Athletic on Saturday.

The North London outfit are just one point away from securing Champions League football for next season following their 3-1 victory over last season's Premier League champions last weekend.

"We know what Wigan are like towards the end of every season, difficult to beat, so we have to take what we did against City into the game," Bale told the club's official website.

"It's never easy, especially at this time of the season when a lot of teams have so much to play for. It will be a difficult game. We need to take a positive attitude to Wigan and not be too relaxed, be strong and try to get the three points."

In contrast, the Latics are three points away from retaining their top-flight status.
