Report: Southampton fail with Tonny Vilhena bid

A report claims that Feyenoord midfielder Tonny Vilhena will not be moving to Southampton on Monday.

Southampton have reportedly missed out on the chance to sign Feyenoord midfielder Tonny Vilhena.

Saints boss Ronald Koeman confirmed on Friday that he wanted to bring the talented 20-year-old to St Mary's.

However, according to Algemeen Dagblad, the Dutch outfit have blocked the transfer despite the player's willingness to move on.

The midfielder has made 20 appearances for his current club this season, but has not yet scored or registered an assist.

Koeman, however, is expected to sign at least one new player on deadline day.
