Ronald Koeman to sign "at least one player" on transfer deadline day

Southampton boss Ronald Koeman says that he will be active before the transfer window closes, amid speculation linking him with Tonny Vilhena and Filip Djuricic.

Southampton coach Ronald Koeman has revealed that he intends to sign "at least one player" on transfer deadline day.

The Dutchman has been linked with moves for Feyenoord's Tonny Vilhena and Benfica midfielder Filip Djuricic - who is on loan at Mainz - but Koeman stopped short of revealing who he has his eye on.

"We will have at least one player, I think we need that," he told reporters. "I don't answer questions about names. But you will know it tomorrow."

The Saints, who have already signed Werder Bremen winger Eljero Elia on loan this month, lost 1-0 at home to Swansea City on Sunday.
