Southampton striker Jay Rodriguez outlines his desire to get on the scoresheet more next season after netting nine in his first season in the Premier League.

Southampton striker Jay Rodriguez has targeted finding the net more in his second season at the club.

The 23-year-old signed for the Saints for £7m last summer from Burnley and scored nine goals in 37 appearances in the last campaign.

"It's been good," Rodriguez told the club's official website. "We're glad to have stayed in the Premier League and now we need to build on that next year so that's what we'll be looking for.

"It is a good feeling at the moment. On a personal note, I'd have liked a few more goals, so that's a target for next season."

Southampton finished 14th in the Premier League in their first season back in the top flight after gaining promotion from the Championship a year ago.
