Greg Halford has confirmed that he has left Nottingham Forest following the expiry of his contract.
The defender fell out of favour at the City Ground last season and was loaned out to Brighton & Hove Albion in November.
Halford, who joined Forest in 2012, says that he was proud to have played for the Reds.
"So last day of me being a Forest player. Would like to say its been a privilege playing for the club and would like to thank everyone for their support," the 30-year-old wrote on Twitter.
"Gutted to be leaving such a big club (for non football reasons) but everything happens for a reason."
Halford scored eight goals in 82 appearances for Forest.
