Chris Hughton denies Robert Snodgrass exit rumours

Chris Hughton has insisted that he does not want to sell Robert Snodgrass following reports that Celtic are eyeing up a move for the Scotland winger.

Snodgrass is reportedly a Hoops fan, while The Mirror claims that Neil Lennon watched him in action during Norwich's FA Cup defeat to Fulham.

However, when asked about the link, Hughton was keen to stress that he wants the midfielder to stay at Carrow Road.

"It's news to me. But Snodgrass is an important player for us," Hughton told The Mirror.

"He's a team player and very much a focal point of what we do. So it's fair to say he is simply not for sale."

Snodgrass has also spoken of his commitment to the club, insisting that he is focused on playing well for Hughton's team.

"All I can say is that for now I'm at Norwich and I have 18 months left on my contract. So I'm just focusing on doing as well as I possibly can for Norwich at this minute," Snodgrass said.

Despite Hughton's denial, the newspaper claims that the Canaries would ask for at least £6m to let him leave the club.
