Alan Pardew insists that Newcastle United midfielder Yohan Cabaye is "focused" on his duties with the Magpies, despite reported transfer interest.

Newcastle United manager Alan Pardew has insisted that midfielder Yohan Cabaye is "focused" on performing for the Magpies.

The Frenchman has been linked with a summer exit following reported interest from Paris Saint-Germain and Premier League champions Manchester United.

According to The Chronicle, when asked if he expected Cabaye to leave the club, Pardew said: "Not really. I feel like all of our players there is a value to Yohan. Obviously he is a player I want to keep.

"It's a big season for him. He will be a starter for France at the World Cup. It's important for him.

"He is focused very much on us. There's no bid for him as we speak now. Until such time as there is he is a Newcastle United player."

The 27-year-old has been at St James' Park since 2011.
