Preview: Maribor vs. Wigan Athletic

Sports Mole previews Thursday's Europa League encounter between Maribor and Wigan Athletic in Slovenia.

Wigan Athletic must beat Maribor in Slovenia on Thursday to keep alive their hopes of reaching the last 32 of the Europa League.

The Latics, who are now managed by Uwe Rosler following Owen Coyle's recent departure, currently sit two points behind second-placed Zulte Waregem in Group D.

However, a win against bottom-placed Maribor would mean nothing for Wigan if Waregem defeat the already-qualified Rubin Kazan in the night's other fixture.

The English side earned a 3-1 victory at the DW Stadium when the teams met in the reverse encounter back in October.

Wigan have no fresh injury concerns ahead of the match, although James McClean is forced to miss out through suspension.

Sports Mole says: 1-1
