Manchester United could attempt to hijack Chelsea's £15m move for highly-rated Dutch youngster Marco van Ginkel.
According to The Express, the Vitesse Arnhem midfielder has been tracked by United's chief scout Jim Lawlor, who apparently flew out to Turkey to watch the 20-year-old at the Under-21 European Championships.
Van Ginkel has done little to quash the speculation linking him with a move to the Premier League, hinting that a decision on his future will be made after his holiday. However, he claims that he is completely unaware of United's reported interest.
Speaking to Sky Sports News, he said: "My future? Now I have a vacation and I'll concentrate on that. After my holiday, we will see. Maybe!
"Manchester United? I didn't know. I have two more years at Vitesse. It's a club who's growing, so I'm also happy there."
Van Ginkel came through the ranks at Vitesse before making his debut in 2010.
