Paul Pogba's agent Mino Raiola hits back at Sir Alex Ferguson comments

Paul Pogba's agent Mino Raiola states that Sir Alex Ferguson was wrong to pin the blame on him for the midfielder's exit from Manchester United in 2012.

Paul Pogba's agent Mino Raiola has insisted that Sir Alex Ferguson was wrong to blame him for the midfielder's exit from Manchester United.

The former United boss has hit out at Raiola in his new book Leading, suggesting that he had a part to play in the 22-year-old leaving Old Trafford for Juventus on a free transfer in 2012 after rejecting a new contract.

Raiola has claimed that Ferguson does not understand that the decisions he made were in fact to the benefit the France international.

"Those words don't describe my work in a negative way," Raiola told Tuttosport. "I rate them as a proof that I am good at my job.

"I have to do what's best for my players' sake. If I had looked only at my immediate gain, I would have kept Pogba in Manchester. But I put Pogba's interests first and we decided to go to Turin.

"Maybe Ferguson only likes those who obey him. From his quotes, I understand that Ferguson still doesn't have a clue who Pogba really is. Ferguson was an excellent manager, but the greatest managers can be wrong sometimes."

Pogba is said to be valued by Juve at around £70m and has been linked to a host of top clubs in Europe, including Real Madrid, Barcelona, Chelsea and Manchester City.
