Sir Alex Ferguson confesses that Man City are now favourites for the Premier League title following their 1-0 win over Man United at the Etihad Stadium.

Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson has conceded that Manchester City are now favourites for the Premier League title following their 1-0 win at the Etihad Stadium tonight.

Vincent Kompany's header in first-half stoppage time was enough to see City claim three vital points and climb above the Red Devils to the top of the table.

They are in the driving seat now. They only need to win two games of football," admitted Ferguson.

"I can't complain about the result. If you lose goals from set pieces at this level of football you only have yourself to blame.

"It's not over yet as long as there is games to play but they have an eight-goal advantage and thats a big advantage to have at this stage of the season."

City face Newcastle United and Queens Park Rangers in their final two games, where two victories would virtually secure them the championship.
