David de Gea hails Manchester United support

Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea lavishes praise on his club's supporters for their continued support during what has been a tough period.

Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea has thanked his club's supporters "for always being there" after the Red Devils put three much-needed points on the board in the Premier League.

Man United's eight-game winless run came to an end at Old Trafford on Saturday as Anthony Martial and Wayne Rooney scored in a 2-1 home win against Swansea City.

De Gea almost left the 20-time English champions for Real Madrid in the summer but ultimately signed a new long-term deal at the club, and the Spaniard has lavished praise on the Man United fans.

The win has moved Man United into fifth position in the table, two points behind fourth-placed Tottenham Hotspur, who face a difficult trip to Everton on Sunday.
