Manchester City defender Bacary Sagna has revealed that he and his teammates want Frank Lampard to extend his loan spell at the club.
The 36-year-old's deal with the champions ends in December as he is scheduled to join up with MLS side New York City FC in January, but due to his excellent form Sagna, along with the rest of the squad, are desperate for him to stay longer with the team.
The Frenchman told reporters: "He's a great guy and he's fitted in perfectly. He showed here that he can score important goals, he's a great player. He's a quick-moving player. To play against these types is so difficult.
"All of them are top, world-class players. Frank was always very good. He's shown many times he's a great player. As long as we have him on board, it's always good."
Lampard scored the winning goal in his side's victory over Leicester City at the weekend to keep them in touch with Premier League leaders Chelsea.
