Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has reportedly decided to press ahead with his attempt to sign Real Madrid midfielder Marco Asensio.
The German is unlikely to make many changes to a squad that has put together a strong challenge in both the Premier League and Champions League, but there is a desire to strengthen in a number of positions.
Liverpool have been linked with an approach for Asensio since the beginning of 2019, despite the playmaker being regarded as an important part of Zinedine Zidane's first-team plans.
However, according to reports in Spain, Liverpool are prepared to make a big-money approach for the Spain international in the coming months.
The Merseyside giants remain as outsiders to complete a deal, with the 23-year-old still having four years left on his contract at the Bernabeu.
Asensio has contributed just six goals from 39 outings in all competitions this season.
