Liverpool forward Luis Suarez could be hit with an extra one-match ban if the club decide to appeal against his suspension.
Suarez has already been banned for Friday's clash with Newcastle after his one-fingered gesture to Fulham fans earlier this month.
He is also facing an eight-match suspension having been found guilty of racially abusing Manchester United defender Patrice Evra when the two sides met at Anfield earlier in the season.
The Football Association are understood to be angered at Liverpool's attack on them last week and therefore could hand Suarez an extra ban if the club decides to appeal.
