Leicester City beat Coventry City 2-0 at the King Power stadium, with goals from David Nugent and Jermaine Beckford.
The first action of the game came when Martin Cranie fouled Richie Wellens in the area to give Leicester the penalty on eight minutes. Neil Danns stepped up to take the spot kick and saw it saved by Joe Murphy.
The home side continued to press and got their reward in the 11th minute when David Nugent put them 1-0 up.
Coventry struggled to get into the match as Leicester continued to create chances, with Jermaine Beckford seeing his efforts saved by Murphy.
Coventry began to push forward and get a grip on the game with Gary McSheffrey key in the away side's attacks.
Despite getting into the game towards the end of the half, Coventry went in still 1-0 down to Leicester.
The second half began with Coventry looking the better side, though it was Leicester who took their chance on 60 minutes. Beckford doubling the home side's lead to give them some distance.
Leicester took more control of the game after the second goal and Danns saw his effort blocked on 67 minutes.
Leicester saw out the game to secure themselves a 2-0 win and all three points.
