Ravel Morrison "has struggled" to adapt to life at Lazio, according to head coach Stefano Pioli.
The former England Under-21 international joined the Serie A outfit earlier this year following his release by West Ham United.
However, despite being praised for his performances in pre-season, the 22-year-old has been limited to just two senior appearances for Le Aquile.
Asked why that is the case by reporters, Pioli replied: "He has struggled. He has to work harder for the team. He's had a niggling injury and he still doesn't speak a word of Italian. This has slowed his development and his integration in the squad."
Morrison has recently been linked with a return to Queens Park Rangers, whom he spent time on loan with in 2014.
