Chelsea reportedly have a £132m bid turned down for Real Madrid midfielder Marco Asensio.

Chelsea have reportedly had a £132m bid turned down for Real Madrid midfielder Marco Asensio.

According to Spanish outlet Don Balon, Madrid president Florentino Perez rejected what is the first alleged approach for the player this season.

Asensio, who has scored 10 goals and assisted four others for Madrid this term, has seen his progress stall under Zinedine Zidane and the 23-year-old is now vying for a place in the starting lineup in the capital.

The news outlet claims, however, that Asensio has been assured of his place in the Madrid team by Perez, who has told other clubs that the midfielder is not for sale.

Asensio is under contract with his current employers until 2023 after signing an extension in September.
