Craig Mackail-Smith wants Easter return

Craig Mackail-Smith hopes that he will be fit to start either of Brighton & Hove Albion's Easter fixtures.

Brighton & Hove Albion striker Craig Mackail-Smith has said that he is targeting a return to starting action in either or both of the fixtures against Huddersfield Town on Good Friday or Blackpool on Easter Monday.

Mackail-Smith, who has been out for over a year with an Achilles injury, has made two brief substitute appearances in recent weeks, but is now looking to play a bigger part in the Seagulls' playoff push.

"We've got the big game on Friday, I would love to be involved in that, but I know I have to be patient as the boys are doing really well, we're getting wins and scoring goals," Sky Sports News quotes him as saying.

"It's been great being back among the squad on a matchday. I know I have just got to bide my time, there are still important games to come and I hope I can play a part in them."

Brighton, seventh in the Championship, are out of the playoff places on goal difference only.
