Abdenasser El Khayati brace seals Burton victory at Blackpool

Abdenasser El Khayati scores twice as Burton Albion come back to beat Blackpool.

Two second-half goals from Abdenasser El Khayati have seen Burton Albion come back from a goal down to beat Blackpool at Bloomfield Road.

Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink's side started on the front foot, with El Khayati blazing a shot over before midfielder Mark Duffy also failed to test Kyle Letheren in the Tangerines goal.

Henry Cameron and Mark Cullen tried to give Blackpool a breakthrough of their own, but were also unable to keep their shots on target.

The Seasiders did edge in front midway through the first half when Jack Redshaw latched on to Cameron's cross before firing home from a few yards out.

Cullen was denied the chance to double Blackpool's lead before the interval when his effort was saved by Burton stopper Jon McLaughlin.

Within seconds of the restart, Albion were twice denied an equaliser as first Stuart Beavon, and then Timmy Thiele, had efforts stopped by Letheren.

However, Letheren could do nothing to stop El Khayati, whose shot beat the Blackpool keeper low to his left soon after.

On 68 minutes, the Brewers came close to taking the lead when Thiele's attempt was kept out by the young shot-stopper, who has replaced the injured Colin Doyle in the Tangerines' side.

Redshaw almost restored the home side's advantage on 79 minutes, but his shot was fired straight at McLaughlin.

However, El Khayati scored his second of the evening with five minutes left to condemn Blackpool to their third defeat within a week.
