Atletico Madrid captain Gabi has revealed that he has 'agreed' a new contract at the Vicente Calderon.
The 33-year-old is currently in his second spell at Atletico, having initially departed the capital club to join Real Zaragoza in 2007, before returning in the summer of 2011.
Gabi has made over 250 appearances for Atletico since returning to Madrid, and the midfielder has confirmed that he will soon put pen to paper on a new long-term contract.
"We have an agreement, it's always been very easy when we've spoken. As long as I can perform at the level which Atletico demands I will be here," Gabi told El Larguero.
"The Champions League has become very important for us. We know that cycles come to an end. We have two or three years to win it."
Gabi has won the La Liga title, the Europa League and one Copa del Rey during his time at the Vicente Calderon, in addition to picking up two runners-up medals in the Champions League.
