Arsenal striker Alexandre Lacazette will be out for up to six weeks after undergoing knee surgery, the club has confirmed.

French forward Lacazette had an operation on his left knee on Tuesday morning, which will keep the 26-year-old sidelined for at least four weeks.

Lacazette was a substitute for the Gunners' defeat to Tottenham Hotspur last weekend, after manager Arsene Wenger selected January signing Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang ahead of him.

The forward was expected to feature for Arsenal in the Europa League on Thursday due to Aubameyang's ineligibility in the competition, but the Frenchman will now miss both of the club's last-32 ties against Ostersunds.

Lacazette could now return at the end of March.
