Kenny Jackett places no blame on Walsall after racism complaint

Wolverhampton Wanderers manager Kenny Jackett describes the racist abuse that two of his players suffered over the weekend as an "individual" issue.

Wolverhampton Wanderers manager Kenny Jackett has described the alleged racist abuse that two of his players suffered over the weekend as an "individual" issue, saying that he has plenty of "respect" for Walsall.

Earlier today, Wolves made a complaint to the Football Association after Carl Ikeme and George Elokobi said that they had been racially abused by Walsall fans at the Banks's Stadium on Saturday.

"We were disappointed by what was said to our players but we have a lot of respect for Walsall Football Club and we know this will be down to individuals," said Jackett in a statement.

"There is no place for racism either in football or in society and as a head coach and as a club we will back our players if they are on the end of it.

"We have made our statement and gone about things in the right way and will now leave the authorities to deal with the situation."

Wolves won the match 3-0 to maintain their lead at the top of League One.
