Swansea City manager Carlos Carvalhal says that he is pleased to have seen his side walk away with a share of the spoils from their trip to Huddersfield Town.

Swansea City manager Carlos Carvalhal has admitted that he was pleased to see his side walk away with a point from their trip to relegation rivals Huddersfield Town this afternoon.

The Welsh side found themselves down to 10 men with just 11 minutes on the clock when Jordan Ayew received his marching orders for a high challenge on Jonathan Hogg.

The Terriers dominated the game from thereon - boasting 81% possession - but Carvalhal's men held firm to ensure a share of the spoils.

"It was a happy point because we were down to 10 players very early," Carvalhal told Match of the Day afterwards. "It didn't look like a red card at the first moment but when I look again what my player did was exactly the same as the Huddersfield player did. It was strange.

"My team was really brave. They defended very well. It is not the sort of game I want, in the end it was a little bit lucky but the luck I think was completely deserved for how my players played with their fight.

"We showed another face of our character. We didn't have the conditions in this game to get more than one point."

Next up for the Swans, who are four points clear of the relegation zone, is an FA Cup quarter-final encounter with Tottenham Hotspur next weekend before league action resumes with a tough trip to Manchester United after the international break.
