Andrew Hogg: 'Malta can be satisfied'

Malta goalkeeper Andrew Hogg says that his team 'can be satisfied' with their performance during Saturday's 2-0 defeat to England.

Malta goalkeeper Andrew Hogg has said that his team 'can be satisfied' with their performance in Saturday's 2-0 defeat to England.

The visitors were expected to be on the end of a heavy defeat in the 2018 World Cup qualifier, but England could not add to first-half goals from Daniel Sturridge and Dele Alli as Malta kept the score down in the English capital.

Hogg, 31, impressed with a string of fine saves and the London-born stopper has claimed that he was "happy" with his own performance.

"Defensively, it was okay, not one of our best games, we could have defended better. We have to be realistic, we are playing some of the best players in the world. We could be satisfied," Hogg told ITV Sport.

"I just do my job. It was a good game, I am happy. England impressed me more than Scotland, the final result against them was not fair. We are a team that can play."

Hogg plays his club football for Maltese side Hibernians.
