Sports Mole takes an in-depth look at how Liverpool could line up against Tottenham Hotspur in Saturday's Premier League clash.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp could potentially have Trent Alexander-Arnold back at his disposal for Saturday's Premier League battle against Tottenham Hotspur in North London.

The right-back has returned to team training after sustaining a hamstring problem at the start of the month, but he was not given the green light to face Leicester City in the EFL Cup on Wednesday.

The extended rest period will benefit Alexander-Arnold's chances of a comeback this weekend, but Thiago Alcantara (hip) remains out and is not expected back for another few weeks at the very least, while Stefan Bajcetic (calf) is a fresh absentee.

With Alexander-Arnold still not quite at 100%, Klopp should draft Joe Gomez back into the fold at right-back, while Andrew Robertson will displace Kostas Tsimikas on the left-hand side of the backline.

The customary passing of the gloves will occur between Caoimhin Kelleher and Alisson Becker, while the well-rested duo of Joel Matip and Virgil van Dijk should start as Klopp's central partnership.

Assuming Gomez takes up right-back duties, Curtis Jones - who started and captained Liverpool from that role on Wednesday - should return to the engine room, joining Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai in Klopp's preferred trident.

Cody Gakpo and Diogo Jota were both on target in midweek, but the duo will likely be demoted to the bench by Luis Diaz and Darwin Nunez, while Ben Doak will cede his place to the well-rested Mohamed Salah.

Liverpool possible starting lineup: Alisson; Gomez, Matip, Van Dijk, Robertson; Szoboszlai, Mac Allister, Jones; Salah, Nunez, Diaz
