Harry Maguire 'takes positives' from Arsenal defeat

Leicester City centre-back Harry Maguire calls on his side to "take the positives" from Friday's 4-3 defeat to Arsenal in the Premier League.

Leicester City centre-back Harry Maguire has said that his side have to "take the positives" from Friday's 4-3 defeat to Arsenal in the Premier League.

The 2017-18 campaign was opened in spectacular style on Friday night as seven goals were scored at the Emirates Stadium.

Leicester led 2-1 and 3-2 during the fixture in London, but Arsenal turned things around in the latter stages to ensure that they collected all three points on home soil.

Maguire has insisted that there is plenty for Leicester to be positive about following the defeat, although the summer signing from Hull City has admitted that it was "disappointing" to leave the English capital with nothing to show for their efforts.

"It was obviously a great game for the fans to watch, but it's disappointing for ourselves," Maguire told LCFC TV. "To come away to the Emirates and score three goals and concede four is disappointing, especially as a defender.

"We've got to take the positives out of the game. We went toe-to-toe with them for 90 minutes really and I don't think many teams will come here and do that.

"We'll work hard on the training ground now to work on our defensive display and build a base as a team. If you look at our performance throughout the game, we stuck to our gameplan and hit them very well on the break. Hopefully in the coming games we'll get a bit more luck and turn those positive performances into good points."

Next up for Leicester is a home game against Brighton & Hove Albion on Saturday afternoon.
