Barnet have been relegated from the English Football League despite a 3-0 hammering of Chesterfield in Saturday's League Two season finale at the Hive Stadium.
The Bees opened the scoring on 41 minutes against the bottom-placed Spireites when John Akinde headed home from Curtis Weston's cross.
Martin Allen's charges then doubled their lead nine minutes from time, Richard Brindley firing past Joe Anyon and into the bottom right-hand corner from range.
Barnet added a third in the 88th minute through Alex Nicholls, who rifled a powerful effort into the top corner of the net, leaving home fans with a sliver of hope come the final whistle.
However, Morecambe got the point they needed to survive on goal difference as they held on for a 0-0 draw at the Ricoh Arena.
Further up the table, Mansfield Town fell short of a playoff place as they could only draw 1-1 with Crawley Town.
The Stags' failure to pick up all three points at the One Call Stadium allowed Lincoln City and Coventry City to claim sixth and seventh place respectively in the table.
The playoffs will be contested by Exeter City, Notts County, Coventry, and Lincoln.
