Aston Villa have reportedly entered talks with Marseille over a potential deal for midfielder Morgan Sanson.
The 26-year-old has found himself in and out of the Olympiens team this season amid his injury woes, featuring from the first whistle in just nine of Marseille's 18 Ligue 1 games so far.
Sanson has bagged two goals and three assists in the current top-flight campaign, but he struggles for consistent starts over the likes of Boubacar Kamara, Valentin Rongier and Pape Gueye at the Orange Velodrome.
As a result, the Daily Mail reports that Marseille are willing to sanction a sale, and Villa are in talks over a move for the former Montpellier man.
Sanson is believed to be valued at £20m by Les Olympiens, but with his contract due to expire in 18 months' time, Villa are reportedly hopeful that they can strike a cut-price deal for the player, who has been linked with the likes of Arsenal and West Ham United in the past.
The Frenchman returned from injury to make the starting lineup against Nimes, but he was hauled off after 65 minutes as Marseille lost 2-1 at home to the 18th-placed side.
