42-year-old Kimiko Date-Krumm's run in the Australian Open has come to an end with a straight-sets loss to Bojana Jovanovski.

Kimiko Date-Krumm has lost her Australian Open third-round match in straight sets to Bojana Jovanovski.

The 42-year-old, who became the oldest woman ever to win a match in the tournament earlier this week, fell 2-6 6-7 to the Serbian.

The Japanese player had a conservative approach to the match, making 18 fewer unforced errors than her opponent, but also managing to hit just nine winners.

The 21-year-old's more aggressive approach paid off, giving her seven break points against the Date-Krumm serve throughout the match.

Jovanovski, who is unseeded for the tournament, will face Sloane Stephens in the fourth round.
